The Brazilian junior women’s 4 x 200m freestyle team finished fifth in the junior swimming world, during a race organized this Monday (4), in Netanya, Israel. The quartet formed by Celine Bispo, Luiza Lima, Tahiana Amaral and Manuela Segcompleted the test in 8:11.40. Gold went to the United States, followed by Australia and Canada.
Brazil also contested the men’s 4 x 100m freestyle final and the team formed by Pedro Sansone, Vinicius Rizza, Heitor Napolitano and Samuel Lopes was eighth with a time of 3:23.25. Gold went to the United States, who broke the world junior record in 3:15.49, silver went to Australia and bronze to Canada.
Samuel Lopes, aged 17, took part in the semi-final of the 100m backstroke and was only eliminated from the final by one hundredth, ie 55.18 against 55.17 for Daniele Del Signore (ITA). His time is the new Brazilian record for the junior 1 category.
Earlier, Leonardo Alcantara and Guilherme Kanzler competed in the 400m freestyle qualifying and did not qualify for the final, with Leo clocking 3:54.38 and being 12th fastest and Guilherme 33rd, with a time of 4:04 .77.
In the 50m breaststroke, Manuela Sega was in 18th place, with a time of 32.21 and did not qualify for the semi-finals of the event.

In the men’s 400m freestyle, Petar Mitsin (BUL) won gold with a time of 3:46.49, beating Alessandro Ragaini (ITA). Bronze went to Filippo Bertoni. In the women’s 400 medley, Leah Hayes was the champion with a time of 4:36.84 and Canadians Ella Jansen and Julie Brousseau.
