Brazil takes second place in the Pan-American Cup

It was a busy weekend for Brazilian volleyball. The women’s team won the first two rounds of the South American Championship against Chile and Argentina respectively and leads the competition on points. On the other hand, Brazil’s B team was defeated by Canada by 3 sets to 1, in games of 26-24, 20-25, 25-23 and 25-22, and finished second in the Men’s Pan American Cup. .

Under Carlos Schwanke, the Brazilian team reached the Pan American Cup final undefeated, with a 100% success rate. In the group stage, Brazil faced Canada and the Dominican Republic and were defeated. In the semi-final, the Brazilians defeated Chile, again in straight sets, and secured a place in the final where they faced the Canadians again.

Schwanke started the decision with setter Matheus Brasília, facing Darlan, central players Thiery and Pietro, pointers Birigui and Marcus, as well as libero Alê Elias. The South American Championship takes place at the Geraldão gymnasium, in Recife (PE), and Zé Roberto counts on the passers Macris and Roberta, the opposites Kisy and Rosamaria, the central players Diana, Carol and Thaísa, the wingers Gabi, Pri Daroit, Tainara and Maiara Basso, and liberos Nyeme and Natinha among the players registered for the tournament.
