After a single victory on the first day, the Brazil had a better performance this Friday (27) at the Pro Tour final in Doha (QAT) with six wins and three losses. Despite the positive results, the duo Renato and Vitor Felipe reached three losses and should remain in the group stage as Group B lanterns.
The day started with Beard and Carol beating American duo Hughes and Cheng 2-1, 21/18, 20/22, 16/14. After, Duda and Ana Patricia they beat the Canadian duo Pavan and Bukovec, in surprise, by 2 to 1, partials of 18/21, 21/16 and 15/12.
It was then time for the men’s doubles to enter the sand and Renato and Vitor Felipe were beaten by the solid Norwegians Mol and Sorum by 2-0 (21/14 and 21/13). However, shortly after George and Andrew returned the pair of Chilean brothers Grimalt, partials of 16/21, 21/16 and 15/13.
After a brief break, Carol and Barbara returned to the sand and were beaten by the Dutch Stam and Schoon by 2 to 0, with a brace 21 to 15. On the other hand, Duda and Ana Patrícia maintained 100% success and defeated the Australian Clancy and Mariafe, partials of 21/15 and 21/17.
In the last clashes of the day, George and André scored 2-0 against the hosts Cherif and Ahmed, partials of 21/15 and 21/16 and Renato and Vitor Felipe were beaten by the Italians Nicolai and Cottafava on the score of 2-0, partials of 21/14 and 21/15.
The last matches of the group stage will take place on Saturday morning and the quarter-finals in the afternoon, broadcast by Sportv.
George and André are in second place in Group A, with six points. In the female category, Duda and Ana Patrícia lead A and Bárbara and Carol are in second place in group B.
