A Brazilian team will carry out a humanitarian mission in Canada to fight against the forest fires that have hit the country since March. The decree was published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU) this Wednesday (07/19) and signed by the Vice President and Acting President, Geraldo Alckmin.
The National Force will send 21 agents to Canadian territory and 104 other specialists will work in the most affected forests. The Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be responsible for the coordination of humanitarian aid.
The period scheduled for the mission begins this Friday (21) and runs until August 24. The Brazilians will be sent to four Canadian provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

The Ministries of Defence, Transport and Finance cooperate in the organization of the mission, in addition to the National Council of Military Firefighters of Brazil (Ligabom).
