The Brazilian Luisa Baptista and Vittoria Lopes guaranteed double Brazil on the podium of 2022 Pan American Triathlon Championship. The competition took place this Saturday in Montevideo, Uruguay, and saw the participation of the best athletes from the continent. Another important result for Brazil in the competition was the silver of Antonio Bravo in the under 23 category.
As at the 2022 South American Games, Luísa Baptista won the gold medal in the elite women’s category. Luísa finished the race with a time of 02:02:18, thirteen seconds ahead of Vittória Lopes, who led for much of the race, but won the silver medal, also repeating Assunção’s result. The bronze medal went to Canadian Emily Legault.
Another good result among the Brazilian athletes was the silver won by Antônio Bravo, who closed the race with a time of 01:52:44 and thus secured the second place among the athletes under 23 years old. Manoel Messias finished sixth in the elite men’s contest with a time of 01:52:07, with the podium going to Crisanto Grajales of Mexico with the gold, Diego Moya of Chile with the silver and Carlos Paquete. , of Canada, with bronze.
