World number 10 Brooke M. Henderson of Canada is the big winner of the Amundi Evian Championship, played in Évian-les-Bains, France. At 24, she won her second Grand Slam title and a second victory this season, just over a month after winning the LPGA Tour in New Jersey (USA) at the last Shoprite LPGA Classic.
In Haute-Savoie, on a course which had already seen her five times in the top 25 and twice in the top 10, the double world champion gave a lesson in perseverance and mental strength. Brooke was already leading the tournament at the end of the second round after two rounds at 64 (-7) which included 14 birdies and an eagle. This weekend, she retained her spot at the top of the standings with rounds of 68 (-3) and 71 (par) before a final birdie yesterday afternoon to seal her second Majors title.
