BUFFALO THEORY MTL: Canadian band release single “El Diablo”, inspired by Brazil’s (bad) government

By: Buffalo Theory MTL and VHPress

After surviving the forced two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, the band Buffalo MTL Theory is back with a new single titled “The Devil”. The new song has just been released, as the singer explains Anton Parr, without waiting for other compositions to be ready as well. “The break has already been too long, so we want to release this new material right away and show people that we are not dead! At the moment we are working on three more tracks and the plan is to release an EP soon, right after the release of the single.

Written during the pandemic, the words of“The Devil” reflects the harsh reality of Brazil, singer Anton’s country of origin. The speeches of the fictional character Bosso Naro reflect a critical view of the inaction and often questionable decisions of the current government.

This time, the group recorded alone, at drummer Brian’s house but also in the rehearsal room. “During the enforced break, Brian bought a multitrack recorder and started playing with it. He really got into the business and learned to use the equipment in no time. We’ve always been an independent band , so this step was a logical choice. No decision has been made on how or where the next EP will be recorded, but we believe that the end result that the public will be able to see in “The Devil” it’s comparable to anything we’ve released to date. We are all happy with the result and hope the fans will like it too!

The new single arrives accompanied by a lyric video with art done by Alcide burnsgiven Engrave works of artwho has worked with names such as Krisiun, Nervous, Claustrophobia, among others. The work was published on September 7 and can be seen at the link below:

THE Buffalo MTL Theory has been active since 2008 with the same formation! the brazilian Anton Parr (ex-Avalon, The Still, Overthrash, etc.), who now resides in Canada, is the lead singer. At his side, the Canadians Pat Gordon (guitar), Yannick Pilon (guitar and vocals) Gary Lyons (down) and Brian Craig (drums).

With influences from Black Sabbath, Stockings, Clutch and priestess, the Montreal quintet passes through Stoner and Thrash Metal, but is not limited to it, even including elements of Blues in their compositions. The group has already released four works, including a live studio demo in 2010, the first album “Heavy Ride” in 2012 and two EPs, “Killer Trilogy” (2014) and “Skeptic Knight” (2016). Now, six years later, they are breaking the silence. And there is more to come!
