Croatia and Canada face each other this Sunday (27), at 13 (from Brasilia), for the second round of Group F of the World Cup in Qatar. The match is of immense importance for both teams. The Croatians want to qualify for the knockout stages, and the Canadians, meanwhile, are looking for their first points in their first league appearance since 1986.

Vice-world champions 2018 in Russia, Croatia drew scoreless in their first match of the current competition against Morocco. Together with the performances of the other teams in the first phase of Group F, they are second in the standings, with Belgium in the lead, Morocco in third and Canada in last place.

Croatian coach Zlatko Dalic should use the best of his team against Canada. One of the main motivations in the search for the victory was the declaration of the Canadian coach John Herdman after the loss of his team against Belgium in the first match of the group stage.

“I showed them that’s what they can do, and that we’re going to f… Croatia, it’s as simple as that,” said the Canadian coach.

Zlatko Dalic downplayed the Canadian commander’s statements on Thursday. Striker Ivan Perisic promised a “different” Croatia for the game.
