Arthur Elias summons the women’s team for the She Believes tournament
The other semi-final will also be played this Saturday, between the United States, the local team, and Japan.
The tournament final and third place matches will take place on April 9. The She Believes Cup is held annually in the United States. Since Arthur Elias’ debut as head of the national team, Brazil has faced Canada in two matches, with one victory and one defeat.
Coach Arthur Elias is taking advantage of this current tournament to make last tests in the women’s team before closing the group for the Paris Olympic Games. The next FIFA date does not take place until June, and the group called for the next matches should be the one that will participate in the Olympics.
On the other hand, the Canadian team is coming off a series of eight games without defeat. The last time the Canadians lost was precisely against Brazil, in a friendly match held in September 2023. Since then, there have been seven wins and one draw.
Canada’s last match was against Team USA in the semifinals of the Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup. After a 2-2 draw, the Canadians were beaten on penalties by the Americans.
