Davis Bertans: “Indescribable feelings, a great victory. We have incredible fans, we played as if we were at home. We knew that the French basketball players themselves tried to play aggressively and did not like to be faced like that. We tried to use Losing against such strong opponents with minus 11, many teams would give up. We kept fighting.
Trae Bell-Haynes: “We’re really pleased that we’ve kept our momentum going. We’ve talked about making sure there’s no crash.” [após a vitória contra a França]keep the rhythm and I think we did a good job. Our confidence is high. You could see that everyone was playing well, for free. I’m happy that we continued and I hope we can continue like this. Since we’ve been here, we’ve been passing the ball very well, we’ve been sharing the ball very well.”

The first Basketball World Cup was held in 1950 and has been one of the most prestigious events in international basketball ever since. Teams such as the United States, the Soviet Union (now Russia), Spain, Australia and Yugoslavia (now independent nations) have stood out in the competition over the years.
The United States has enjoyed remarkable success at the Basketball World Cup, winning multiple titles over the years. However, the popularity and participation of NBA players at the Summer Olympics often attracts more attention than the Basketball World Cup.
The current edition, in 2023, will have three seats: Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. In the current edition, there are 32 teams, divided into eight groups of four. Two teams qualify for the next phase and thus begin the round of 16 of the competition, as happens in the Football World Cup.
