After the success of Desire, a song released in 2020, Canadian electronic duo Bob Moses joins Brazilian DJ Vintage Culture once again for the release of another track. Brand new love (Remix) is the new single from the album The silence in between, the third of the North Americans.
Even before the release of the remixed version, Brand New Love was already a hit, reaching the top spots on North American radio. “We knew from the start that this song would be special and that it had the potential to become a single”, reveals Bob Moses in an interview with Correio. “Brand-new love is just the right amount of chewing gum, with the right amount of legal production,” the Canadians define.
For the duo, part of the track’s success is due to listeners’ identification with the composition. “People identified with the lyrics. The song is about being young and wild and free, all the things we haven’t been able to be for the past two years because of the pandemic,” says Bob Moses.
“It’s like falling in love with the world again and living everything as if it were new. It’s a triumphant and joyful song, and people need it right now.” “We drive west and back east / There’s no emotion we can’t find”, sings brand new Love.
Consolidating the success once and for all, North Americans invited Brazilian vintage culture to produce the new version of the single. “The Love Brand New remix is a great ballad song,” say partners Bob Moses. “The song has an energy up there and is a great take on the original track,” the duo point out.
Expanding horizons outside of electronic music, Canadian Bob Moses reveals that the track has already been influenced by alternative rock artists such as Nine-Inch Nails. “We always play with these combinations, bringing together electronic and alternative music, guitars and drum machines or drum kits and synths. We really like to mix organic and digital, human versus machine,” the musicians explain. “That kind of mixing is an exciting and inspiring thing for us that is part of the Bob Moses sound. We’re excited to see where it takes us next.
