Canadian pacer Jeremy Gordon concedes 33 runs in match against USA in T20 World Cup 2024 opener

Gordon had a good start to his bowling career before the fateful end. He conceded 11 runs in two overs in his first over, but lost the field in his third over.

Canada did not have an ideal start to their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign as they lost their opening match against the United States on Sunday June 2. As if the defeat was not bad enough, right-arm fast bowler Jeremy Gordon entered the history books for an unwanted record. The Canadian coach conceded 33 points over, handing the match to the United States. It was the third most expensive in T20Is.

The 4th legitimate ball of the over went for a single when Gous struck again. He finished strongly, hitting a 6 and a 4 respectively on Gordon’s last two balls.

Gordon’s knock of 33 became the third costliest in the history of T20 cricket and pushed the United States to an easy victory in their T20 World Cup debut.
