The Canadian College of Technology and Commerce (CCTB), a leading school of technology in Vancouver, province of British Columbia, Canada, offers scholarships of 12,000 Canadian dollars (approximately R$50,000) in technology courses.

On July 28, starting at 7 p.m., SEDA Intercâmbios will organize a free online event to answer all questions from interested parties.

The Canadian government hopes to attract more than one million foreigners in the coming years. One of the most demanded areas is precisely technology. Studies indicate that the country has about 65,000 open positions in this segment. To fill them, many initiatives have been launched, including promotions in the courses that will train these professionals.

Scholarships offered by the CCTB

Fellowship programs include Full-Stack Development and Cybersecurity Risk Management, which have increased from CA$36,000 to CA$24,000. In addition to this, there are options with smaller grants, for courses in Software Quality Assurance Engineering, User Experience and Interactive Design, Data Engineering and Analytics, Digital Marketing, in business administration and hospitality and tourism ranging from $7,500 to $24,000 CAD. And, even better, up to 75% of the course fees can be paid directly to the school, while the student studies and works in the country, receiving Canadian dollars.

As there is a great demand for this type of professional in Canada, the school facilitates access to Brazilian students.

All courses allow students to work 20 hours per week during terms and 40 hours per week during holidays. In the shorter course, the student can work over 2,400 hours.

Students are still eligible for the BC PNP Tech (British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program), a provincial immigration program that allows students to immigrate to Canada through work experience in the field of technology.

CCTB students can work in 11 of the 29 positions (CNP) eligible for the provincial program, which can be viewed here. In many cases, students gain the work experience needed to apply for the program while studying.
