Britain is under siege: hacked news feeds, manipulated media and political interference. Entrenched in a British “correction” unit, Detective Rachel Carey finds herself in the middle of a new plot – with a new target. But how can she solve this case when she can’t even trust her closest colleagues?
After a thrilling first season, the six new episodes showcase “invisible” killers, the chilling rise of deepfake technology, the growing tension between the government and big tech companies, and the corruption at the heart of Britain’s media.
Capturing is created and written by Ben Chanan and will feature a returning cast of Holliday Grainger (“Strike”) as Detective Rachel Carey, alongside Ron Perlman (“Hand of God”), Ben Miles (“Devils”) , Lia Williams (“The Crown”), Cavan Clerkin (“The Last Kingdom”), Ginny Holder (“Avenue 5”) and Nigel Lindsay (“The Salisbury Poisonings”).
One of the novelties of the second season is Paapa Essiedu (London Gangs, “The Lazarus Project”), which plays Isaac Turner, a young politician on the rise. He will be alongside other names, including Indira Varma (“Game of Thrones”), Andy Nyman (“Hanna”), Charlie Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”) and Rob Yang (“Succession”). Capturing is produced by Heyday Television, part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.
All six episodes were created and written by Ben Chanan. Executive producers are David Heyman, Rosie Alison and Tom Winchester for Heyday Television; Tom Coan for Universal International Studios; Ben Irving and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC, alongside Ben Chanan and Derek Ritchie. The producer is Kristian Dench. The series is distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.
