World number 1, the Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz won again at Wimbledon, reaching the round of 16 of the tournament.
Alcaraz played against Chilean Nicolas Jarry, 28th in the ATP world rankings, and won 3-1, partials of 6/3 6/7 6/3 and 7/5, to qualify for the eighth of final. Final.
The Spaniard will face Italian Matteo Berrettini in the next round.
Other top-10s also won in the third round. Russian Daniil Medvedev (3) beat Hungarian Marton Fucsovics 3-1 (4/6 6/3 6/4 and 6/4), Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (5) beat Serbian Laslo Djere 3-0 (6 / 4 7/6 and 6/4) and Denmark’s Holger Rune (6) beat Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina by 3-2 (6/3 4/6 3/6 6/4 and 7/6)
Sabalenka wins and reaches the round of 16
Number 2 in the standings, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka beat Russian Anna Blinkova 2-0 (6/2 6/3) and will face another Russian in the round of 16: Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Kazakh Elena Rybakina (3) edged Briton Katie Boulter 2-0 (6-1, 6-1). Rybakina will face Bia Haddad in the next round.
The other top 10 winners were Tunisian Ons Jabeur (6), who beat Canadian Bianca Andreescu 2-1 (3-6, 6-3 and 6-4) and Czech Petra Kvitova (9) who won won by 2×1 the Serbian. Natalija Stevanovic (6/3 and 7/5).
Bia Haddad in the round of 16 and victory in women’s doubles
In women’s doubles, Bia returned to the courts alongside Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, and won the pair of Spaniard Cristina Bucsa and Japan’s Makoto Ninomiya by 2-0 (6/4 and 7/5).
