ChatGPT should not replace reports

According to Immunefi, white hats can report faster by describing the problem in their own words rather than using an artificial intelligence tool.

Immunefi pays hackers a bounty white hat to find problems with the smart contracts that power decentralized finance projects like ave, compound and Synthetix. In September 2022, the platform paid out $65 million to the White Hats, with an additional $138 million available for payouts. futures contracts.

Software project owners hire these whitehats to test the security of their products on swap of a reward. These hackers are different from so-called black hats, which exploit security vulnerabilities. On the other hand, so-called greyhats find bugs without permission from the project owner.

Still, the bounty platform said any genuine bugs found by the tool should be reported through the appropriate channels.

ChatGPT uses a language model called GPT-3 to naturally converse with people. Your strength is your ability to answer questions, focusing on the intent of a question more than your words.

For context, major search engines often rank results based on the quantity and quality of links to a webpage.

The tool is still under development

ChatGPT’s training data is sometimes biased, which means its answers often lack common sense and context. Moreover, its articulation can embellish poor quality information.

A moderator of the StackOverflow programming forum recently confirmed that the tool’s polished presentation often successfully conceals inaccurate answers.

StackOverflow has followed Immunefi and banned ChatGPT responses from its platform.

Despite these glaring limitations, the chief executive of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is confident that the tool will evolve into a work competent.

“We can imagine an ‘AI office worker’ receiving natural language requests like a human,” said Sam Altman in 2022. Smart contract auditing platform CertiK noted that the platform isn’t “half bad” at finding bugs.

Meanwhile, Canadian software engineer Tomiwa Aswmidum reportedly successfully used the tool to create a crypto wallet, after teaching the system some rules.

the promoter of dogcoin and Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in December 2022 that ChatGPT’s AI is “appallingly good”, while Next47 venture capitalist Kate Reznykova pointed to ChatGPT’s impressive adoption rate. one million users in just five days. .

However, Altman cautioned against ChatGPT’s development capabilities, calling it a “progress preview” and adding that it shouldn’t be used for critical tasks.

It’s a mistake to rely on him for something important now,” he said.
