Beijing guarantees that it will investigate the alleged spy balloon detected in the United States and Canada. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said she had no intention of violating another territory’s airspace and hoped the situation would be resolved calmly.
“Until the facts are clarified, speculation and agitation will not help to properly resolve this issue,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a press conference.

The balloon was sighted in US airspace for two days and the discovery puts further strain on US-China relations.
A defense official told reporters that the United States are “very sure” that it is a high-altitude Chinese balloon that flew over sensitive places to gather information.
One of the places where the balloon was seen was Montana, home to one of three nuclear missile silo fields.
