Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll was very pleased with his result in Saturday’s qualifying for the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. The Canadian took sixth place on the starting grid for Sunday’s race.
“It was fun out there today. It’s a great track to attack and the car felt good. I think the team performed well for us to qualify fourth and sixth despite very difficult circumstances,” said Stroll, also referring to team-mate Fernando Alonso’s superb fourth place.
“Due to temperature changes it was difficult to figure out where the tires would be in their peak operating window, and we only had one set of tires left for Q3 so there might be a bit more time. The grid is incredibly tight, but we will line up in a strong position to fight hard for the top spots tomorrow,” concluded Stroll.
