Berlin, Germany) – Two weeks after reaching her first Grand Slam final, on clay at Roland Garros, Coco Gauff is one victory away from entering the top 10 of the world rankings. It was Gauff’s sixth career top-10 win and second of the season. This year, she had already overtaken Paula Badosa in Doha. The American also equals the history of confrontations with Pliskova, with now a victory for each side. The Czech won the clay court in Madrid last year.
Gauff has two singles titles on the WTA Tour, the first won when she was just 15, on the hard and indoor courts of Linz in 2019, and the second on clay in Parma last year. The young American is aiming for the fourth final of her career.
