A health unit and the base of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) in Potim (SP) has been the target of violent attacks in recent days, hit by gunshots and stones.
The first case occurred in the early hours of last Friday (19). According to the town hall, a resident felt ill in the Francisco de Assis Galvão park and was taken to the Central Basic Health Unit (UBS).
Although he received medical attention, the patient did not resist and died. Because of this, friends who were with him were worried about the situation and tried to invade the emergency room.
The group threw stones inside the unit. No one was hurt, but the action jeopardized the care of other patients and scared those present.
The second case occurred at dawn on Monday (22), around 12:30 a.m., when the Samu base was the target of gunfire. The shots hit the kitchen, the wall and the windows of the building, located in the Vila Olívia district.
According to the Samu, the service had to be paralyzed for a few hours. For this reason, an ambulance from Guaratinguetá was called to attend to urgent cases.
There were also no injuries and the police were called to take the first security measures. Footage from site security cameras will be analyzed.
The cases are being investigated and there is still no confirmation that one attack is linked to the other.
