The Canadian player is one of the main references in poker worldwide and has reached a level that only two other athletes have reached
There are many poker players who started this activity by watching Daniel Negreanu on television. The Canadian ace is currently sponsored by GGPoker, but since the start of his career he has been tasked with influencing a legion of mind sport fans. At dawn this Friday (20), he reached 3rd place in Event #7 ($25,000 NLH) of the PokerGO Cup and with this prize he reached a historic milestone.
According to “The Hendon Mob,” a website that measures all official awards on the head-to-head circuit, Negreanu currently has $50,116,496 in earnings. He is the 3rd player in poker history to enter the $50 million prize pool and is in the Top 3 on the “All time money list”. Ahead of him are Americans Justin Bonomo (US$58,954,124) and Bryn Kennery (US$57,221,865).
Negreanu’s recent bronze medal earned him $124,000. The tournament had 31 participants and the champion was Thai Punnat Punsri, who took home a prize pool of US$310,000. The podium of the dispute was completed by the presence of the American Daniel Colpoys in 2nd place for a prize of 201,500 US$.
The greatest achievement of Negreanu’s career was 2nd place in The Big Where for One Drop at the 2014 WSOP. The $1 million buy-in tournament earned him a colossal $8,288,001 in prize money. The Canadiens’ slate of awards follows with the peak of last year’s Super High Roller Bowl VII, when he pocketed $3,312,000. In all, the player has already touched more than one million US dollars in a tournament in 9 occasions.
