How a Beach Volleyball Match Ended With Music and Laughter

We are fighting for the same things, there is only one gold medal, but it was an impulsive idea. Then it is all love and respect. Brandie Wilkerson

What else did Duda and Ana Patricia say?

Duda: “People look at the field and don’t know what we’re going through. It’s an abdication, it’s willpower, it’s a fight, it’s a puzzle, victories and defeats. And we did it. It’s an effort, it’s true, it’s love. We fight every day, living this was our priority, we knew it would be difficult, and we did it. I just have to thank God, my family, the whole committee and Paty, and that’s all.

Ana Patricia: “Sometimes it’s about (doing acrobatic moves) at a point in the game where you can’t get your hand in, the head is easier. I’ve tried, some have worked, some not so much. That’s part of it.”

Duda: “I’m very grateful for everything since I started in the sport, I thank my mother since the beginning. All the people who have come and helped are part of it. And having our committee here, present, and all the work that is difficult. Knowing when is the best time to work, to attack, to brake, and without them, none of this would be possible, I’m very grateful to them. It was difficult, but we did it too.

Ana Patricia: “We have to be very grateful for this partnership with Praia (Club). This project was innovative in Brazil, we have seen that it works well and we feel very honored to represent a club that welcomed us and gave us the best possible conditions to do everything we have done here”
