Just five days away from Justin Bieber’s concert, the pop star’s presence at Rock in Rio is still on the minds of fans, although event organizers confirmed the artist’s attendance on the night of September 4.
But if the show is cancelled, am I entitled to a refund?
According to the festival FAQ, if the one-day headliner at the festival is canceled for any reason, the ticket remains valid.
If the buyer prefers not to attend the shows, they can request a refund within 30 working days of the organization’s announcement of the guidelines on how to proceed.
Asked, Rock in Rio confirmed that the practice of reimbursement is provided for headliners, as in the case of Bieber, and that for other artists, each case is assessed individually.
Also according to the ticketing policy, anyone who goes to the event even after the announcement of the cancellation of a certain attraction, will not be entitled to a refund.
Procon-Rio’s legal director, Silvio Romero, reassures fans:
“I don’t believe there are any obstacles to this refund. During the Lady Gaga show, which was canceled in the past, a few days later, they made a refund request tool available on the website. refund that it is fulfilled, so there is the right to a refund,” he explained.
Hotel and transport costs
Also according to the RIR page on the internet, the organization of the event is not responsible for the expenses of accommodation, transport and food, for example. That is to say, fans who come from other cities or states and who have rented transport and accommodation due to the festival, will not have their services reimbursed in the event of a cancellation of a main attraction.
However, Romero points out that the consumer is entitled to reimbursement of expenses, since the commercial risk cannot be transferred to the consumer.
“In this case, it is possible to minimize expenses, to proceed with possible cancellations and to request compensation for the fines paid”.
In the event of difficulties, the consumer can file a complaint with Procon with a view to conciliation with the organizer of the event or take legal action.
“Confirmed as it always has been,” says the festival
This year, singer Justin Bieber revealed he has a condition called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which causes facial paralysis. In June, he announced that he had to postpone three “Justice World Tour” shows to take care of his health.
The Canadian artist spoke on social media and said without going into details: “I can’t believe I’m saying this. I’ve done everything to get better, but my illness is getting worse. My heart is breaking and I have to postpone the next shows (doctors’ prescriptions).”
Despite the concern, the festival board clarified that “the cancellation problem does not exist, Justin Bieber is confirmed as always”.
The answer was also the same, in the case of the artist’s concerts in São Paulo. According to T4F, “the concerts in São Paulo of the Justice World Tour are confirmed”.
On August 18, fans of the star learned that “Meet & Greet” had been cancelled, an opportunity that guarantees a photo with the artist and other perks, at both presentations in Brazil.
The decision was made out of concern for the health of the singer, band, crew and fans, according to ticketing site Ticket For Fun.
