This year, some of Palco Mundo’s main artists are adopting the same request for the time of their shows: the zipline stop. In the 2022 edition, Justin Bieber, Post Malone and Guns N’ Roses already had the same request for the toy not to work during their performances and, according to the team taking care of the attraction, other artists also did the same.
There is no specific reason for the request, being something that depends on each artist. Sometimes, for example, the shutdown can happen due to surprises during the show, as was the case with Will.i.am, of the Black Eyed Peas, in 2019. The artist sang songs directly from the toy and surprised the fans.
Also in 2019, Canadian rapper Drake was the only artist who did not allow the Multishow channel to broadcast his show live, which sparked a heated controversy in that year’s edition. In addition, he vetoed official photographs and zip line people during the presentation.
Jared Leto, lead singer of 30 Seconds To Mars, ziplined down not one, but two! During the group’s first appearance at the festival, in 2013, the artist sang “The kill” while still on the platform, and descended shortly after. Four years later, during the group’s second participation in Rock in Rio, in 2017, the actor also repeated the experience and descended the steel cable.
