Kyle Kirkwood was the fastest driver in the opening practice of the tenth race of the IndyCar season, which took place in Toronto. Marcus Ericsson, driving a Chip Ganassi car, finished the session with the sixth fastest time, ahead of Alexander Rossi and Pato O’Ward, seventh and eighth in McLaren gear. Penske’s Josef Newgarden finished ninth and saw Will Power, one of his teammates, complete the top ten.
The one who had a first discreet activity in Toronto was Álex Palou. The Ganassi driver, leader of the championship and winner of the last three races, signed only the 12th time of the session which opened the Indy weekend in Canada. IndyCar activities will continue this Saturday (15), first with the second free practice, at 11.35 a.m., then with the classification, at 3.50 p.m. The Toronto stage will take place on Sunday, starting at 2:30 p.m.
