Jady Malavazzi wins 2nd bronze medal at Paralympic World Road Cycling Championships in Canada

Jady Malavazzi, born in Parana, won her second bronze medal in the road race for the WH3 class this Saturday 13, at the Paralympic Cycling World Championship, which takes place in the region of Baie-Comeau, Canada.

The Brazilian completed the course of six laps and 56.7 km in total with a time of 2h01min45s, behind only the Italian Francesca Porcelatto, who took silver after finishing the race in 1h59min33s, and the German Annika Zeyen , gold medalist in the event with the mark of 1h56min47s.

This is Jady Malavazzi’s second bronze medal in the competition. Last Thursday, the 11th, he took third place on the podium in the time trialwith a time of 38min06s23.

Last week in Quebec, also in Canada, the cyclist from Jandaia do Sul also won a bronze medal in the same event for the World Cup of this sport.

Jady lost the use of her legs at the age of 13 following a car accident. Shortly after his recovery, he started playing basketball. She migrated to cycling in 2011 and since then she has been one of Brazil’s handbike stars.

The Paralympic Road Cycling World Championship brings together 37 countries and approximately 240 Paralympic cyclists from around the world. The contest runs until Sunday 14.
