Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has performed a private concert in India as part of celebrations ahead of the wedding of one of the sons of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani.

Several images from his Friday night performance (5) posted on social media show the singer singing his 2015 hit “Sorry” in front of several Indian celebrities.

Bieber, who shot to fame as a teenager, is the latest in a long line of celebrities to visit India as part of the lavish wedding celebrations of Ambani’s youngest son Anant and his fiancée Radhika Merchant.

Anant, whose father is chairman of conglomerate Reliance Industries, will marry on July 12 in a three-day Hindu ceremony.

According to local press, Bieber earned around $10 million (nearly R$55 million at current prices) for his performance.

Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding celebrations included a three-day gala in February in the state of Gujarat, featuring a concert by singer Rihanna and attended by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and the daughter of the former US president. Donald TrumpIvanka.

In 2018, Mukesh Ambani threw the most expensive wedding in Indian history, spending $100 million (R$365.4 million at the time) on his daughter’s wedding, a party attended by American singer Beyoncé.
