Ketlyn Quadros won the gold medal at the Grand Slam of Antalya (TUR) after defeating the Israeli Inbal Shemesh in the final of the -63kg category with a ipon at the last second.
The fight was tight and in the first half both judokas were punished. With just over 30 seconds remaining, the Israeli took another shido and hanged in battle. The Brazilian managed to land a blow when the lights went out, in the last second and the referee scored the ipon

Ketleyn and Inbal were looking for their first podium of the season. Quadros won Brazil’s second Grand Slam gold medal of the season, remember that this Friday, Rafaela Silva won gold in the -57 kg category.
To reach the final, the Brazilian overtook Australian Maeve Coughlan with the golden score, a waza-ari and an ippon in less than a minute and a half over Romania’s Florentina Ivanescu. In the quarterfinals and semifinals, she won by ippon Portugal’s Barbara Timo and Canada’s Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard, respectively.

At the same weight as Ketleyn, Gabriella Moraes qualified for the round of 16, where she was eliminated by Austria’s Lubjana Piovesana.
For the 81kg male, Edward Yudy started well, winning the first fight with a nice ipponbut in the quarter-finals he ended up losing to Uzbek Sharoffidin Boltaboev and went to repechage, where he lost to Dutchman Frank de Wit and was kicked out of the medal contention.
In the women’s -70kg category, Alexia Castilhos lost in the first fight against the German Giovanna Scoccimarro with a waza-ari At gold score It is Ellen Froner was beaten by Sweden’s Ida Eriksson in the round of 16.
