Knife attacks in a remote region of Canada left 10 dead and 15 injured on Sunday morning (4), in the province of Saskatchewan, according to the international press. (see video below).

According to the Reuters news agency, local police announced at a press conference that the number of victims could be higher, with several people having been transported to hospitals in the area. (see map at the end of this report).
The AP news agency reported that the attacks took place in two communities northeast of the city of Saskatoon and that police forces have begun a search for two suspects, identified as Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson. Initial reports indicated that the victims were attacked indiscriminately and that police did not cite any motivation for the attacks.

“We have located ten deceased individuals at 13 locations in the Cree Nation communities of James Smith and Weldon, Saskatchewan,” Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said at a news conference. . “Several other victims were injured, 15 of whom were transported to various hospitals.”
The suspects were initially seen in a black Nissan Rogue. At 8:20 a.m. local time, police issued an alert across Saskatchewan. In the afternoon, similar warnings were issued in two neighboring provinces, Alberta and Manitoba.
“The location and direction of travel [dos suspeitos] are unknown,” police officer Rhonda Blackmore said. “It’s horrible what happened in our province today.”
The search for the pair began when fans arrived in Regina, Saskatchewan’s capital, for an annual Labor Day game between two Canadian Football League teams, the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Blue Bombers of Winnipeg.
Regina police said in a statement they have begun working on multiple fronts to locate and arrest the suspects and have “implanted additional security resources throughout the city, including the Mosaic Stadium area.” [local da partida]”.
