Lula elected: world leaders congratulate the PT on its electoral victory

Through official notes and Twitter posts, several governments and world leaders this Sunday evening (10/30) congratulated Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) on his election as President of Brazil.

The White House released two messages, one in English and the other in Portuguese, on behalf of US President Joe Biden. The text ratifies the relevance of the Brazilian electoral process: “Congratulations to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for being elected the next President of Brazil after a free, fair and reliable electoral process. I look forward to working together to continue cooperation between our countries. in the months and years to come.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram — published by the Kremlin — in which he said: “Please accept my sincere congratulations…the election results confirm your impressive political authority. I hope that through our joint efforts, we can seek the development of Russian-Brazilian cooperation in all areas.”

Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky posted a message in Portuguese on his Twitter. “I look forward to active collaboration with Ukraine’s longtime friend and the strengthening of the Ukraine-Brazil strategic partnership to ensure democracy, peace, security and prosperity in Ukraine, Brazil and the whole world !
