Mateus Alves bounced back from singles round of 16 elimination to win doubles with Loureiro

Medellin (Colombia) – Three Brazilians are in the quarterfinals of the double challenger in Medellín, on clay in Colombia. Gaucho Orlando Luz is in for another week alongside Ukrainian Oleg Prihodko, while São Paulo’s Mateus Alves
and João Victor Loureiro from Minas Gerais are playing together in the tournament.
Finalists in Cali last week, Luz and Prihodko are the main seeds and made their debut beating North American Victor Lilov and Peruvian Jorge Panta 5/7, 6/3 and 10-8. They will face the Colombian duo formed by Nicolas Mejia and Johan Rodriguez in the quarter-finals.
Already in a match with four Brazilians on the field, Mateus Alves and João Loureiro beat Pedro Boscardin and Eduardo Ribeiro from Santa Catarina by 7/6 (7-4) and 6/2. The next rivals will be Australian Calum Puttergill and Canadian Kelsey Stevenson, seeded 3.
Romboli and Zormann crash out on their Italy debut
The Brazilian association of Fernando Romboli and Marcelo Zormann fell in the first round of the challenger from Modena, on Italian clay. They were beaten on Wednesday by North American William Blumberg and Venezuelan Luis David Martinez, main seeds, by 6/7 (4-7), 6/2 and 11-9.
