Monitoring to reduce accidents | Estadão Mobility

Among the most common features are fatigue sensors, which detect when the driver closes their eyes or uses their mobile phone, among other situations. Trible’s solution for these cases is Vsafe+, which performs video monitoring, has a fatigue and distraction sensor, and supports up to five cameras.

Another version is called Crash Prediction, which uses Federal Highway Police event data, such as locations most prone to hard braking, diversion of attention, and more, showing managers areas of danger. attention so that they can act and adjust routes, for example.

In addition to cameras, many companies have used temperature sensors for monitoring. This is the case of Geotab, a Canadian company that has been operating in Brazil since last June. “Integrated into our telematics system, these sensors monitor risk situations for the driver and the load in real time,” explains Eduardo Canicoba, Vice President of Geotab in Brazil.

According to him, this telematics device, called GO, connects to the vehicle simply and quickly, without cutting wires and via the diagnostic socket (OBD2). In this way, the system obtains information about the engine such as fuel consumption, breakdowns, driver behavior, emission of polluting gases, among others. “With this data, it is possible to configure automatic alerts so that the driver and managers are aware of any emergency, as soon as it occurs, being able to conduct a proactive approach, instead of a reactive approach, with training and advice to avoid risky situations,” concludes Canicoba.
