Music Archive: Silk Sonic marks the return of…

This Wednesday (21), the website and social networks of antenna 1 were moved by a very special revelation! The framework of the Musical Archive, with presentation and scripting of Diego Franchiis back on the channel Youtube from the radio.

Diego, who is also a DJ, chose the group of R&B Silk Sonic, formed by Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, to mark the re-debut in the right style. “He is an up-and-coming contemporary artist who, for me, has all the face of Antena 1,” he says, and continues: “I took the opportunity to create the content by pointing out all the references they use to the sound of the 1960s, 1970s, soul, funk, disco.

The music archive arrived on Antena 1’s YouTube channel on March 9, 2017. With 25 videos made available in the first phase, the painting gained wide recognition. Also in podcast format, the show was nominated, in 2018, for the prize APCA radio, in the category Production of musical content.

Despite the five-year hiatus, Diego says producing the initiative’s 26th video alongside the Antena 1 team “was magical”. “It was a feeling of joy, to see people interact with the Music Archive again, and also to see the listeners who followed the Music Archive in 2017 there, celebrating. It’s a return, but it’s also a continuity“, Account.

Compared to the beginnings, the recent return brings some changes, as in its recording, now made with modern and high-tech equipment in the new radio studio.

The framework’s proposal has remained the same since its inception. In short videos, Diego explores the archives of Antena 1’s musical programming and takes a real step back, pointing to current songs that had references in his musical productions of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

For Diego Franchi, the Music Archive represented the beginning of his career in radio and as a presenter. Success with subscribers, the first video was about “Ain’t Nobody”, a partnership between DJ Felix Jaehn and Jasmine Thompson, similar to the eponymous track by Rufus & Chaka Khan, from 1983. Another episode, for example, featured singer The Weeknd. In the song “Secrets”, from 2016, the Canadian artist uses an excerpt from “Pale Shelter”, released by the band Tears For Fears in the 1980s.
