Around 500 tourism-related professionals have won new job opportunities in the employment campaign promoted by the General Union of Workers (UGT), in partnership with the Secretariat of Tourism and Travel of São Paulo (Setur-SP) and seven other associations. The initiative is part of the Permanent Forum for Employability in Tourism and Events and took place in the Anhangabaú Valley, in downtown São Paulo.
In a week of face-to-face and online consultations, 35,000 CVs have been received from professionals in various fields and around 500 candidates are already being selected for tourism related jobssuch as events, hotels and theme parks.
According to the organization, the biggest requests for vacancies were for waiters, chambermaids, kitchen helpers and general service assistants. Twenty major companies in the sector participate in the working group. There are still vacancies that can be filled online by registering CVs via form here.
In addition to the mutirão, the Setur-SP it also supports the training of professionals through the Academia do Turismo program, which promotes courses for young people from primary school to graduate school, including applied technical education.
