Torino (Italy) – Defeated in the first round of the group stage of the ATP finals, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal and the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime will face each other in a crucial duel for the survival of the two on Tuesday. They will play their first singles match of the day not before 10:00 a.m. (Brasilia time).
This will be the third time the two have met on the tour and Nadal will look to maintain his unbeaten streak against the Canadian, having won the previous two matches, both on clay. The first of those was in 2019, in Madrid, and the most recent came this season in the round of 16 at Roland Garros, in a five-set battle.
In the night round, it will be the winners’ turn to duel. The Norwegian Casper Ruud and the American Taylor Fritz will see who will remain undefeated in the competition closing the day at 5 p.m. It will be the first time they have measured forces and the winner may even guarantee an early seeding for the semi-finals.
Fritz temporarily leads the green group, overtaking Ruud on the tiebreaker criterion, for a more positive game record. He won 13 and lost 7, while the Norwegian won the same 13, but lost 10 against Aliassime, who is precisely for this reason in third place, with Nadal last.
