Miami (USA) – The week started well for the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who dropped the ranking of the Norwegian Casper Ruud, who was defending the title of the ATP 250 in San Diego and who did not reach the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 In Seoul, he ended up losing important points and was overtaken by the left-hander from Mallorca, the new vice-leader of the ATP, behind only the young compatriot Carlos Alcaraz.
It was one of only two changes to the top 10. The other was for similar reasons, with Italian Jannik Sinner failing to defend his title at ATP 250 Sofia, where he stopped in the semi-finals in 2022. As a result, he lost two positions and fell from 10th to 12th place, overtaken by the Pole Hubert Hurkacz, who returned to the top 10, and by the North American Taylor Fritz (11th ).
Champion in Tel Aviv, Serbian Novak Djokovic remained in seventh place, but got a little closer to Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who currently occupies sixth place. The Croatian Marin Cilic, vice-champion of the Israeli tournament, gained two places and is now 14th in the world.
Within the top 30, Denis Shapovalov, Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti also improved their ranking. The Canadian has gained two places and is now 22nd in the world, the young Dane has made an even greater rise, climbing five places and is now 26th, while the Italian has gone from 30th to 27th.
The biggest jump in the top 100 was Switzerland’s Marc-Andrea Huesler, who was champion in Sofia and jumped from 95th to 64th. Also stands out the sprint of the Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, who won Seoul and gained 15 places, moving to 41st place.
