Araxá had 3,575 points in the standings. The score is calculated using the Marketing Quality Index (IQM) statistical analysis methodology. For the list, municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants were analyzed, evaluated in more than 60 questions and indicators, with analyzes relating to sanitation infrastructure, transport, urban mobility, logistics and telecommunications.
In 2022 alone, Araxá generated 15,937 new jobs. Of all occupations, about 42% of jobs in the municipality are related to the industrial sector, with a focus on the mining and food sectors. In the mining sector, for example, Araxá is home to CBMM, the world leader in niobium technology and holder of the exploration rights to the world’s largest operating niobium mine.
In the food sector, the city is also home to the two largest frozen pre-fried potato factories in Brazil. Bem Brasil Alimentos, which produces more than 250,000 tons and is the leader in the national distribution segment. And McCain, a Canadian company and the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen pre-fried potatoes and a world leader in appetizers / snacks, which opened its first factory in Brazil, in 2022, in the city of Araxá.
According to Mayor Robson Magela, Araxá is becoming a reference in terms of innovation, sustainability and job creation. He emphasizes that incentive municipal policies are important for companies to settle in the city.
“We have incentives for the creation and expansion of businesses in the municipality. It is possible to grant tax incentives such as the allocation of areas, the provision of services, among others. With this, it is easier for factories to come and invest in the city and provide more jobs for the people. We are very satisfied with this performance achieved in the Exame survey”, he explains.
