Applied in more than 40 countries, Qmentum International is a model for evaluating healthcare services that ensures that organizations comply with international governance requirements and good care practices. Certification is granted by Accreditation Canada, an independent organization dedicated to evaluating and accrediting the quality and safety of healthcare services worldwide.
For CIIR Technical Director, Fabrícia Dias Maciel, Qmentum maintenance ensures that healthcare services maintain high standards of quality and safety, as the requirements are evidence-based and follow healthcare best practices. “Healthcare facilities seeking Qmentum certification go through a rigorous assessment process, which includes an initial assessment, an on-site assessment, and a final exam.”
According to the head of the Quality and Patient Safety Center (NQSP), Leisson Pinheiro, during the assessment carried out by the IQG consultants, there were interviews with employees, patients and their families. The process also included a review of documentation and observation of patient care.
“Having assessed IQG consultants, with verification of required organizational practices, backed by evidence that addresses high priority areas that are central to quality and safety, they also assess aspects such as patient safety, quality of care, risk management, leadership and governance, human resources, information management and communication. After the evaluation, the team publishes a report with recommendations for the continuous improvement of the service,” said the head of the organization, Leisson Pinheiro.
Diagnosed with autism, 4-year-old Gabriel Trindade is one of those who benefit from the high level of health provided by the CIIR’s multidisciplinary team. His mother, Josiane Trindade, 30, ranks the CIIR among the world’s leading institutions. “With a structure and trained professionals, my son has developed. The CIIR has technological support that is difficult to find in another health establishment in Brazil and, in addition, knowing that my son is attended by an establishment that has international certification, it gives me more peace of mind and confidence in his rehabilitation.
According to senior IQG methodology assessor Regina Cardia, processes should always be based on quality and user safety. “The CIIR is to be commended. We have noticed a lot of evolution and innovation. We left here with enormous satisfaction to know such an excellent health service. There were two days of visits to some of the selected processes, such as: Leadership; the Hospital Service for the Fight against Infections (SCIH); Clinical Engineering; the Autism Spectrum Disorder Care Center (Natea); Specialized Centers in Dental Medicine (CEO) and Rehabilitation (CER IV); as well as access management.
For CIIR Director General Réjane Xavier, maintaining Qmentum certification is an indicator of excellence in the delivery of health care on the unit and demonstrates a health service’s commitment to continuous improvement. quality and safety of patient care.
“The final result confirms all the efforts of management and our multidisciplinary team to offer and maintain an increasingly qualified, safe and humane service. This encourages us to constantly refine our processes for the benefit of those who need our help,” emphasized the official who acknowledged the support of the state government, through the State Department of Public Health (Sespa ) for yet another achievement which provides for the management of the CIR.
The CIIR is a reference in Pará in medium and high complexity assistance to people with visual, physical, auditory and intellectual disabilities (PcD). Users can access the Center’s services through referrals from health units, received by the regulating center of each municipality, which in turn forwards them to the state regulation. The request will be analyzed according to the user’s profile by the Regulation System (Sisreg).
