Excellence in the management of person-centered assistance has been decisive for the Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR), in Belém, to maintain, for the second consecutive time, the Canadian certification Qmentum International IQG, with the Accredited Diamond seal, which places the institution of the Government of Pará as the only public in the North and Northeast of Brazil, and one of the few in the country, in terms of ambulatory 2, which stands out for its innovation and global standards of care for its users. Applied in more than 40 countries, Qmentum International is a model for evaluating healthcare services that ensures that organizations comply with international governance requirements and good care practices. Certification is granted by Accreditation Canada, an independent organization dedicated to evaluating and accrediting the quality and safety of healthcare services worldwide.

For CIIR Technical Director, Fabrícia Dias Maciel, Qmentum maintenance ensures that healthcare services maintain high standards of quality and safety, as the requirements are evidence-based and follow healthcare best practices. “Healthcare facilities seeking Qmentum certification go through a rigorous assessment process, which includes an initial assessment, an on-site assessment, and a final exam.”

According to the head of the Quality and Patient Safety Center (NQSP), Leisson Pinheiro, during the assessment carried out by the IQG consultants, there were interviews with employees, patients and their families. The process also included a review of documentation and observation of patient care.

“Having assessed IQG consultants, with verification of required organizational practices, backed by evidence that addresses high priority areas that are central to quality and safety, they also assess aspects such as patient safety, quality of care, risk management, leadership and governance, human resources, information management and communication. After the evaluation, the team publishes a report with recommendations for the continuous improvement of the service,” said the head of the organization, Leisson Pinheiro.

Diagnosed with autism, 4-year-old Gabriel Trindade is one of those who benefit from the high level of health provided by the CIIR’s multidisciplinary team. His mother, Josiane Trindade, 30, ranks the CIIR among the world’s leading institutions. “With a structure and trained professionals, my son has developed. The CIIR is a reference in Pará in medium and high complexity assistance to people with visual, physical, auditory and intellectual disabilities (PcD). Users can access the services of the Center through referrals from health units, received by the regulating center of each municipality, which in turn forwards them to the state regulation. The request will be analyzed according to the user’s profile by the Regulation System (Sisreg).
