PF arrests suspect of being part of a group that hacked into the Ministry of Health

The Federal Police arrested, this Wednesday, a suspected member of an international group of hackers who invaded the website of the Ministry of Health, in December 2021. The arrest was made in Feira de Santana, Bahia.

Hacker attacks have also been carried out by the group against other government agencies, such as the Ministry of Economy, the Comptroller General of the Union and the Federal Highway Police.

The PF investigation began in December, when the Department of Health’s cloud was invaded by hackers. The files and data in the dossier were deleted and ConectSUS, the system responsible for the national certificate of vaccination, ceased to function.

While accessing the site, users were faced with the warning that their data had been copied and deleted.

The suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, is being investigated for criminal organization, invasion of a computer device and interruption or disruption of telegraph, radiotelegraph or telephone service. The PF also investigates corruption of minors and money laundering.

According to the police, the group has already invaded the systems of the Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company and Localiza. Companies from South America, the United States and Europe have also been targeted by the group, such as Electronic Art, Globant, Microsoft Azure and Nvidia.
