Having a student exchange program is the dream of many people, especially Brazilians. To bring you closer to this achievement, discover two initiatives that offer study programs in Canada and the United Kingdom.
The University of Montreal offers, in addition to scholarships, exemption from admission fees for Brazilians to take undergraduate and even doctoral courses in Canada. According to the organizers, students can get up to 50% tuition reduction and full fee waiver for the admission period (Winter 2023 and Fall 2033).
To clarify the admissions steps and processes, advisors and specialists from the Canadian university will be at the Salão do Estudante, in São Paulo, on October 15 and 16. On the 17th, there will be a face-to-face conference at the linguistic network of the Alliance Française from 6 p.m. The event is free and registration is now open.
The Canadian institution offers an intensive French language learning program to students, before starting their studies at university. The program consists of four months of French lessons, allowing students who arrive in the country already knowing the local language to be able to communicate and follow academic activities.
For those wishing to study in the UK, the Chevening scholarships are open for applications until 1 November at the Internet. The initiative awards scholarships for one-year master’s programs at several universities in the European country.
The grants cover return airfare to the UK, tuition fees for the chosen course, university administrative costs and also include a monthly sum of money for the student’s personal expenses.
The selection process has two stages. In the first, the candidate registers via the program’s website, by filling out an online form with the courses he wishes to take. He then submits the required documentation, which includes degrees, transcripts, letters of acceptance from the university, and letters of recommendation.
In the second stage, applicants are invited for an interview in English at the British Embassy or in cities that have a British Consulate. Other requirements expected of participants are: having a professional experience of at least two years (voluntary work and paid or unpaid internships also apply here); wish to return to their home country after completing their studies to apply the knowledge acquired in the UK; have a professional history of excellence and achievement, in addition to having the ability to become a great leader in their field; demonstrate that you have the personal qualities necessary to benefit from the scholarship; wish to get in contact with other scholarship holders of the program during your studies and also after your return to your home country; and have a clear idea of how the course can benefit your country.
