Rafaela, on the other hand, knocked out Georgian Gvantsa Mtchedlishvili, then overtook Poland’s Julia Kowalczyk and found herself beaten by Toniolo in the quarter-finals. In the repechage, she applied an Ippon on the Briton Nekoda Smithe-Davis.

In the -48kg category, Amanda Lima and Natasha Ferreira ended up eliminated in the first fight, as well as Yasmine Lima at -52kg.
In the male, Matthew Takkaki lost in the second fight and Diego Ishmael was eliminated in the first phase, by the -60kg category. Who went the furthest? William Limawho lost in the round of 16 in the -66kg category, to Aibek Uulu of Kyrgyzstan.
The competition continues this Saturday with the finals starting at 10 a.m., broadcast by Canal Olímpico do Brasil and Sportv 2.
