Sesc-Flamengo has a significant absence for the first match of the Superliga semi-final against Praia Clube this Monday. Canadian setter Brie King was not included in the match at Arena Praia as she is recovering from dengue fever. Rose took a stance for the match.
Indeed, the Sesc-Flamengo press office reported that Brie was diagnosed with the disease on March 31, a day after the team’s victory over Barueri in the quarterfinals. The player traveled to Uberlândia with her teammates, but was not considered fit for the match.
Brie King arrived at Sesc-Flamengo in the 2022/23 season and became a highlight of the team, being an absolute starter for the team and the Canadian national team. Still according to the club, the passer’s participation in the second match of the semi-final, scheduled for Friday, at the Maracanãzinho, will depend on the evaluation of the medical team.
In addition to Brie King, dengue also excluded another player from Superliga matches: opposite Kisy, from Minas, was also excluded from the duel against Fluminense in the quarter-finals of the competition due to illness.
