Only one game closed the clashes of the 17th round of the first phase of the Serie C of the Brazilian Championship on Monday evening (01). Playing at home, at Estádio Baenão, in Belém, Remo-PA did not have it easy, but beat Ferroviário-CE 2-1, with a goal in the last minutes, and entered the G-8.
With the result, Remo moved up two positions, moving to eighth place with 25. The team has the same score as Aparecidense-GO, but has an advantage in the tiebreaker criteria. Ferroviário, on the other hand, got complicated in the fight against relegation. Without a win for three games, the Ceará team is 18th with 16. Floresta-CE, the first team outside the relegation zone, has 19.
The first half was very balanced, with both teams looking for space in midfield to reach the opposing goal with danger and abusing aerial play. However, the main moves only happened in the final minutes. At 47, Ferroviário arrived well on a quick counterattack and Dudu Silva came face to face with goalkeeper Zé Carlos, but ended up taking him out.
On the other side, Remo, in the next minute, replies by opening the scoring. Bruno Alves played for Marco Antônio, who fixed it inside the box and hit the back of the net. Consequently, the duel went to half-time with the hosts’ partial victory.
Coming back in the second half, Ferroviário rode in search of a draw. At 15, Edson Carius appeared free in the box, but kicked wide. Remo responded with 29 from a Marco Antônio free kick. Zé Carlos had to make a superb save to avoid what would be the Pará team’s second goal.
When it looked like the game would end in victory for Remo, Ferroviário equalized at 35. Ruy stole the ball from midfield and served Edson Cariús, who came forward and struck across. At the first moment, Zé Carlos made the partial defense. On the rebound, Ian appeared and put it on. In the last minutes, the two teams opted for all or nothing, but the duel ended in a draw.
The two teams return to the field next Sunday (07) for the dispute of the 18th and penultimate round of the first phase of the Brazilian Championship Serie C. At 5:00 p.m. Remo welcomes Aparecidense-GO, at 5:00 p.m. at the Baenão stadium . A little later, Ferroviário visits Volta Redonda-RJ, at Raulino de Oliveira’s house, at 8 p.m.
