Located approximately 100,000 light years from Earth, the star orbits a binary system star in the constellation Draco. According to the researchers, the exoplanet is slightly larger than Earth and is covered in a thick layer of water, just like some moons of Jupiter and Saturn in our solar system.
The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), run by NASA, picked up the first signal from the celestial body. Then, the Mont-Mégantic Observatory (OMM) telescope in Quebec, Canada, confirmed the sighting.
