, Sesc-Flamengo is already working on the renewal of its main athletes for 2023/24. Bernardinho’s side have struck up conversations with some of the most important names in the cast, such as Canadian setter Brie King and striker Roni, as well as promises under development, such as center Juju.
The contracts concluded by Sesc-Flamengo are similar to those of the red-black basketball team. Unlike football, in which athletes sign extensive, millionaire ties, athletes choose to renew year after year. There is therefore the uncertainty of a massive renewal of the workforce at the end of the main competitions.

With the playoffs “knocking at the door”, Sesc-Flamengo can make its athletes appreciate even more. The case of Roni who, although having already started contract extension conversations, can receive proposals from abroad.

Earlier this month, Bernardinho’s side were knocked out by Minas Tênis Clube in the Copa Brasil semi-finals. Now he seeks to reach greater heights.
Sesc-Flamengo retook fourth place in the Superliga last Friday. The team beat Minas, champions of the competition last season, at the Tijuca Tênis Clube. Rubro-Negro has 12 wins and eight losses, behind only leaders Praia Clube, Osasco and Minas himself.
