SITA presents news in Brazil to optimize air transport

Specializing in IT solutions for the air and airport transport chain, SITA is presenting its latest news to Brazilian airlines this week.

Using the most advanced technologies available, including artificial intelligence and “big data”, the new products aim to make flights more sustainable and efficient, without sacrificing safety.

To present the company’s novelties, the SITA brought to Brazil its vice-president for the Americas of Business Development for Aircraft, the Canadian Stéphane Villeneuve, accompanied by the Head of Business Development for Latin America, the Brazilian Carlos Vianna.

The duo are focused on introducing local airlines to three products, called OptiFlight, eWAS Dispatch and MRO Blockchain, the first two aimed at managing and optimizing flights and the last at managing aircraft maintenance, repairs and operations.

“SITA’s objective is to make air transport ever safer, more practical, efficient and pleasant”, summarized Stéphane Villeneuve during the presentation of the company and the three new products at DIÁRIO DO TOURISM.

One of the products presented is the OptiFlightwhich uses big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to support more sustainable flight operations, generating tactical recommendations that help pilots save fuel during all phases of flight.

Giving an example of the usefulness of the product, Villeneuve explained that takeoff is a critical stage in terms of fuel consumption during a flight and that pilots generally adopt a standardized speed and power.

With the use of an OptiFlight module, called OptiClimb, it is possible to optimize take-off, using specific recommendations generated by artificial intelligence from various specific data both from the aircraft and from the atmospheric conditions. local conditions, among other things, by minimizing the fuel consumption necessary .. for the aircraft to take off safely.

Another product is Send eWAS, which allows you to monitor and track all aircraft information during a flight, such as altitude, latitude, distance, and route, to ensure that aircraft take off and land as planned. In addition, it monitors winds, turbulence and other conditions encountered, allowing you to predict possible weather problems and avoid inconvenience during the flight.

Explaining one of the uses of the product, the SATA leader recalled that on long-haul flights, the meteorological conditions encountered may change from those expected before takeoff and that the product allows pilots to identify advance any problems, making the necessary corrections. ensure a smoother and safer flight for passengers and the aircraft,

The third product is Blockchain MROis a still-in-development platform aimed at tracking and monitoring aircraft spare parts using blockchain technology.
