Soares and Murray challenge favorites at Queen’s

London, England) – The double ATP 500 draw at Queen’s in London put Bruno Soares and his British partner Jamie Murray on their way to the grass-court tournament seedings. In their debut, they face the American Rajeev Ram and the Briton Joe Salisbury.

Soares and Murray have already been champions on grass at Queen’s in 2017. The only Brazilian to have won the traditional London tournament, the experienced forties from Minas has yet another title in the competition, won in 2014, when he played alongside the ‘Austrian Alexander Peya.

If they overcome the first round, Soares and Murray can face another very experienced duo, the French Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, who start against the Briton Lloyd Glasspool and the Finn Harri Heliovaara.

On the same side of the table are Colombians Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal, seeded 4th in London, making their debuts against a quality side. They can face the Indian Rohan Bopanna and the Canadian Denis Shapovalov in the quarter-finals or cross the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman and the Spaniard Pedro Martinez.

On the other side of the table are Croatia’s Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic, seeded 2, who make their debut against local guests Jonny O’Mara and Ken Skupski. The top three in the tournament are Dutchman Wesley Koolhof and Britain’s Neal Skupski, who will face fellow hosts Cameron Norrie and Australian Alex De Minaur in the first round.
