Fans of Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, historical rivals in the social media world, have found a reason to meet at Rock in Rio. It is because the two idols teens perform this Sunday (04/09), as the main attractions of Rock in Rio, first the American singer and then the Canadian star.
From the cold queuing to the moment the Olympic Park gates opened, fans of Bieber and Lovato left behind the bullshit of the virtual environment and lived in perfect harmony, even together, to share the space on the stage grid. .
Called Beliebers (Fans of Justin Bieber) and Lovatics (Fans of Demi Lovato), the groups are easily identifiable by the clothes they display in the City of Rock. From traditional shirts to headbands, glasses, jackets, among others.
A fan of Demi Lovato since 2009, Camila Trigo, 25, from Minas Gerais, who has been in Rio since yesterday, accompanied by her mother, commented on the origins of the feud involving the fan base of the two pop stars.
“They came out around the same time, more or less, and due to a condition in the pop world, we fought to see who was the better singer. Today they have the same producer (Scooter Braun) and then we don’t fight like we used to. Another factor that mitigates conflicts is that the audience has increased. We are all between 20 and 30 years old,” says Camila, adding that the artist also helped her through a phase when she was bullied at school.
“I was bullied and Demi’s songs helped me a lot to overcome this moment and to be able to have more self-esteem”concludes.
Camila’s mother reinforces her daughter’s speech.
“We love it! [Demi Lovato]”
Fernanda Marin, a 24-year-old Justin Bieber fan from Rio de Janeiro, is another to raise the white flag among fans.
“This rivalry, we see it a lot on the internet. Demi’s fans are more quarrelsome as much as they seem to be Justin’s, but here no one thinks about rivalry or quarrel. Everyone realizes a dream today, something much bigger. Let’s all enjoy together”comments.
Demi Lovato performs at 8:35 p.m., while Justin Bieber takes the stage at 11 p.m.
