The storms that hit the Canada on Saturday (21), they left at least five dead and structural damage to towns in the Ontario region.
According to a bulletin from the meteorological service, there is also a group of injured people and at least 350,000 people have been left without power due to damage to the transmission network.
“A very strong chain of storms developed near Sarnia late Saturday morning and tracked northeast over southern Ontario toward Ottawa Saturday afternoon. Gusty winds were reported across a wide swath of southern Ontario as the strong storms passed,” the preliminary report said.
The winds reached more than 130 km/h, knocking down poles, uprooting trees and destroying houses. Residents share images of the damage on social networks with #ONStorm, at the request of the weather service. (see below)
